Pinellas officials take closer look at bus stop safety
Bundled in jackets and clutching yellow notepads, Pinellas County School District officials started their Monday early at several arterial bus stops. After the death of a Pinellas Park High junior who was hit by a car, the goal was to glean information to make the stops more safe.
"We're trying to get a sense of what's happening," said Michael Bessette, associate superintendent, as he stood at the 66th Street N and 70th Avenue stop where 17-year-old Nora Huapilla was killed last month.
