Pinellas to pinpoint teachers with most success with black students
After months on the back burner, vague plans to take a closer look at black student achievement in Pinellas have veered into a more specific direction — and a potentially groundbreaking one — involving teacher quality. The Pinellas school district is now proposing to find out which teachers are having the most success with black students — and then finding out what they're doing differently so their behaviors and strategies can be replicated. "If we know what's working, then we can help spread that to more teachers," associate superintendent Bill Lawrence told The Gradebook. More here.
