Pinellas School Board fires superintendent Julie Janssen



The Pinellas School Board unanimously voted Tuesday to dismiss superintendent Julie Janssen, whose leadership had increasingly come under fire, after she withdrew her offer to resign.

The board immediately moved to begin discussions with former Polk superintendent John Stewart, who served as deputy superintendent under Howard Hinesley, to become interim leader while it searches for a full-time CEO.
