Pinellas schools looking for a new assistant superintendent

We're late in reporting this, but Solomon Stephens, the assistant superintendent for human resources in Pinellas, is leaving the district. Stephens announced his retirement Aug. 16. His last day is tomorrow.

The district has posted the position, which offers a salary range of $86,368 to $125,580. Stephens made $101,580.

UPDATE: Stephens told the Gradebook he'll start work next week as the chief human resources officer for Birmingham City Schools in Alabama. "You have to go when opportunity directs," he said.
