Pinellas superintendent search begins taking shape
Hours after making John Stewart the interim superintendent, the Pinellas County School Board began shaping the search for a permanent replacement to Superintendent Julie Janssen.
It scheduled a meeting to get public input on the search, set another date for a workshop to discuss what it wants to see in the next leader and appointed a board subcommittee to begin researching a timeline and other details.
The public hearing will be Sept. 27. The workshop will be Oct. 4. Both Robin Wikle and Stewart recommended that the latter be facilitated by Mary Beth Corace, the IB coordinator at Palm Harbor University High.
The subcommittee will include board members Linda Lerner, Lew Williams and Peggy O'Shea.
The board also scheduled a workshop with Stewart Tuesday to establish some direction and priorities with him.
