Pinellas takes closer look at overage middle school students
As we noted in this story over the weekend, Pinellas is taking a closer look at overage students in middle school - more than 3,200 in all - and intervening more aggressively if it sees them floundering.
The story mentioned a few schools with high numbers of overage students (John Hopkins had the most, followed by Bay Point, Pinellas Park and Morgan Fitzgerald) but did not include a chart that showed the numbers at every school. You can find that here.
The district says it has to look at a lot more data before it knows how much of a problem it has with overage middle school kids in general. In the meantime, can folks out there tell us what they're seeing in their middle schools?
