With an 85 percent yes vote, Pinellas teachers ratified changes to their contract with the district tonight. The school board will vote on the changes tomorrow night. Here's an email that union president Kim Black sent to members:

Dear PCTA & PESPA Members –
Thank you for voting to ratify your contract today.  The results are as follows:
The PCTA Bargaining Unit ratified the Tentative Agreement on reopeners for 2010-11 today. The total vote count was 2498.
        PCTA            For Ratification        2127 (85%)              Against Ratification 371 (15%) 
       
The PESPA Bargaining Unit ratified the Tentative Agreement on reopeners for 2010-11 today. The total vote count was 874.
PESPA   For Ratification        824 (94%)               Against Ratification 50 (6%)
The School Board will vote tomorrow night for ratification at their 5:00 p.m. meeting.
