A University of Florida student died Sunday night after apparently jumping to his death from a stairwell at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, the Gainesville Sun reported. 

Michael Richard Edmonds Jr., 26, was a member of the UF cycling club and studied journalism.

"At this point, we don't have anything to suggest foul play," UF Police Major Brad Barber told the Sun , adding that investigators were still trying to determine what happened. "If in fact it is determined that this is a suicide, the tragedy speaks for itself."

The tragedy came a day after Edmonds was arrested, charged with driving under the influence, and a couple months after a car collided with his bicycle, forcing him to use a back brace. His Facebook page illustrated his frustrations, the Independent Florida Alligator reported.
