PolitiFact: Teachers make more in Georgia than Florida
"You can go to Georgia and make about $6,000 more a year as a teacher."
That's what state Rep. Marty Kiar of Davie, who runs point on education for House Democrats, told governor-elect Rick Scott during a recent meeting.
Is he right on that point? You betcha, according to the fact checkers at PolitiFact.
"If we look at the most dependable NEA data published, for 2008-09, we find a difference just shy of $6,000. Kiar said 'about $6,000,' so we rate this claim True."
