Pump up the prom

You can donate it to a Pasco County teen who can't afford a dress for her prom.

Pasco's eighth annual Cinderella Project is under way, and the organizers are seeking support. From their news release:

The Cinderella Project needs donations of prom-style dresses and accessories (shoes, purses, costume jewelry) in excellent condition and contemporary styles.  Donations are currently accepted at any Pasco County high school.

Cash donations to the Cinderella Project are used to purchase brand new dresses and shoes when sizes are not available in the donated inventory. Since 2005 the Project has supplied dresses and accessories to over a thousand girls with financial need.  “Our goal is to be sure no young lady misses out on her prom because of a lack of funds,” organizer Alison Crumbley said.

Girls can try on and pick out their ensemble on two Saturdays:  March 31st and April 14th,  from 10:00 am til 1:00 pm.  A school ID badge is required at the boutique event, located at 2418 Merchant Ave., Odessa, West Pasco Industrial Park, west of Gunn Hwy.  Call 727-858-1281 or 727-389-3112 for more info or to make a tax deductible cash donation.
