Reading, math FCAT scores for Pinellas high schools
Today's St. Petersburg Times story about FCAT scores in Pinellas noted that Pinellas high school students made strong gains in reading -- enough to give principals and district officials hope that some high schools may shed the unflattering school grades that have plagued them.
This chart we quickly put together shows reading and math scores for this year and last year for the 17 high schools.
Only two schools -- Osceola and Tarpon Springs -- showed gains in both grades and both subjects. Only two more -- Northeast and Gibbs -- showed no decreases in either grade or subject.
