Rick Scott's question about the Pasco School Board's iPads: An answer on Twitter?
The other day we reported that Florida Gov. Rick Scott had asked the Pasco County school district for a cost-benefit analysis of its decision to buy new iPads for School Board members.
No one at the Governor's Office explained why. No one at the School Board knew why.
In that Jan. 20 conversation of 140-character messages, TeresaHQ wrote: "Pasco Cty School brd requested IPads today. Is this the kind of waste in ed budget we r looking for?"
Scott responded: "we need to make sure kids have technology, but not waste dollars."
So there you have it. The request appears to be aimed at determining whether the iPads are a necessary expense. District officials and some board members think so. (See the district response attached below.) Can't wait to see the answer from Scott's office.
