The company has sent letters to some area high school counselors advising them that telemarketers are impersonating the firm's representatives, attempting to sell its retail CD-ROMs at a significant markup from the real cost. "Kaplan does not sell its retail products through individual sales calls but through authorized distributors, vendors and our online bookstore," the warning states.
