Schedule changes in works for four Pinellas high schools

Gibbs, Lakewood, Boca Ciega and Dixie Hollins high schools would move to later starting and ending times next year - and a new schedule model - under a plan being considered by the Pinellas school district. They would start at 8:15 a.m. (instead of the current 7:05 start times) and end around 3:20 p.m.

Student learning time would increase from 6.5 to 7 hours a day. All four schools are under state oversight because of academic performance issues.
