SEIU throws its support behind four Pinellas candidates
Service Employee International Union (SEIU) has endorsed the following candidates in Pinellas County School Board race:
Incumbents Peggy O'Shea in District 3 and Linda Lerner in District 6, retired Pinellas principal Terry Krassner in District 2 and retired Pinellas educator Lew Williams in District 7.
SEIU represents health care workers and public school employees. The endorsements mirror those by the Pinellas Classroom Teachers Association and Pinellas Education Support Personnel Association, the local organizations representing the district's instructional and support employees.
O'Shea faces retired science teacher Greg Hunsinger. Lerner is up against Largo High teacher Brian Hawley. Krassner is rivaling math/science coach Fonda Huff. And Williams is in a three-way race with retired college professor Jim Jackson and attorney and YMCA grant supervisor Keisha Bell.
