Senate Education meeting canceled

Gaetz Sen. Don Gaetz, chairman of the Senate K-12 Education Committee, checked himself in to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital late Tuesday after feeling light headed, a staffer in his office confirms to the Gradebook. Gaetz is back home and doing well, the staffer says, but his committee  - which was supposed to hear bills on student dress, single-gender classes and school grading today - has canceled its meetings until January.

It remains unclear whether the committee's joint workshop on virtual schools with the K-12 Education Appropriations Committee is still on for Thursday and Friday.
