St. Petersburg College board approves budget with tuition increase
The St. Petersburg College Board of Trustees has approved a $145 million budget that includes a 3 percent tuition increase, beginning July 1. Many other state colleges and universities are raising tuition by 8 to 15 percent.
The board also has promised not to cancel any classes once advertised.
"We were able to limit the increase in tuition and allow our students to make academic plans beyond the next semester," Doug Duncan, Senior Vice President for Administrative/Business Services and Information Technology, said in a release. "The budget also includes initiatives that are directly focused on student success."
