State to roll out teacher evaluation information today
The state Department of Education says that today it will post information about teacher evaluations this year, under a new evaluation system that has created plenty of controversy. The DOE says the information will be "about the number and percentage of classroom teachers, other instructional personnel, and school administrators who earned evaluation ratings of highly effective, effective, needs improvement, developing, or unsatisfactory for the 2011-12 school year. Data is available at state, district, and school levels, as well as for the three personnel categories, but will not be available at the individual level."
