Stewart's farewell video

Superintendent John Stewart's last day in Pinellas County Schools is Tuesday. As we wrote in a story over the weekend, Stewart has been credited with bringing a sense of calm to the school district after a tumultuous period. Not all of his ideas have been popular, but board members have said he set a good path for new superintendent Mike Grego.

(Grego's first day is Wednesday. His contract is up for formal approval by the school board Tuesday.)

Stewart has put out his final farewell video. In it, he said that he has enjoyed his time in the school district. He praised teachers, saying how much he respects them.

"Without you, we would not have a next generation," he said. "Thank you for all that you do."
