Students are not your friends, Lee schools declare
Lee County school officials have formally instructed staff not to "friend" students on social networking sites.
The AFP reports that the district started the new school year by warning teachers not to communicate with students via Internet sites, whatever the reason.
"Too many people may not realize what they do in their private life online can come back to cause issues in their professional life, especially in public education." Robert Dodig, who heads the district legal office, told the news service.
Is this common practice? Should it be?
