Superintendent meet-and-greet conflicts with some high school open houses
Some high school teachers and parents in Pinellas County aren't going to be able to attend tonight's meet-and-greet with Mike Grego, the superintendent-select. That's because some of the open houses that were canceled by Tropical Storm Isaac were rescheduled for this evening.
The event with Grego is scheduled between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. tonight in the conference hall at the school district's administrative headquarters in Largo. Several open houses are scheduled to start at the same time or will overlap, including those at Clearwater High, Dixie Hollins High, Gibbs High, St. Petersburg High and Tarpon Springs High. There might be a few others, but the schedules weren't readily available.
Board members scheduled the meet-and-greet tonight because they wanted to hold it before they vote to start formal contract negotiations with Grego. That item is on the agenda for Tuesday's regular school board meeting, which starts at 5 p.m.
Are there any teachers or parents out there who are disappointed by the schedule conflict? Anyone making tough choices about what to attend or trying to rush from one event to the other?
