Survey: Most parents happy with math, science education

16

June

The vast majority of American parents say math and science is important for college, careers and the future, according to a national survey released by Public Agenda earlier this month (and underwritten by the GE Foundation.)

But more than half of them (52 percent) say their child's math and science education is "fine as it is," and 65 percent say there is plenty of time for their children to learn science in middle and high school.

Apparently, they haven't seen the FCAT results in science, especially for minority kids.

Florida Citizens for Science weigh in here.
