Teachers union "election bus" heads to Florida promoting Barack Obama

The American Federation of Teachers election bus heads to Florida on Wednesday to begin the second leg of its multi-state "Your Vote-Your Right-Their Futures" campaign.

The first stop is in Tampa.

AFT president Randi Weingarten is scheduled to speak at the event, which is billed as an effort to build "excitement around re-electing President Obama and other pro-worker candidates." Other speakers include Florida Education Association president Andy Ford, Tampa mayor Bob Buckhorn, and United School Employees of Pasco president Lynne Webb,, who also heads the West Central Florida Federation of Labor.

The bus tour then heads to Daytona Beach, Miami, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach before heading to the northeast United States.

The Tampa event is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Hillsborough County Labor Rally, IBEW Local 915, 5621 Harney Road.
