There are some things teachers just shouldn't say
With the school year winding down, some teachers might start feeling a little worn out and overworked.
The Florida Education Association has posted on its website a column by a DC teacher called "The 5 Worst Things a Teacher Can Say To Students," suggesting it's worth a look if for no other reason than to avoid uttering these words in frustration. What not to say?
"I know this may seem pointless, but we have to get through it."
"I don't know what I'm doing."
"The other class did well with this. What's wrong with you guys?"
"You will never be able to (fill in the blank)."
"I get paid whether you (fill in the blank) or not."
Ever heard these things said in a classroom? How about something worse?
