Thurgood Marshall parents not giving up



The parents at Thurgood Marshall Fundamental Middle School won't take no for an answer. Even though the Pinellas school board voted 5-2 last month to stick with new, earlier start times, upset Thurgood parents are continuing to mobilize.

They're hoping to get 300 supporters to the board meeting Tuesday. And to get their ducks in a row on speakers and strategies, they're holding a meeting Friday night at the Bartlett Park Resource Center.

Tuesday's agenda packet is 1,041 pages. And that's not counting the public hearing on the budget. If Thurgood parents deliver on turnout, it's going to be a long, long night ...
