From the Times' Opinion page: 'Government 101: Janssen meeting should be open'
The St. Petersburg Times editorial board this morning weighed in on this news from Tuesday. Their words:
It's hard to decide which is more disturbing: Pinellas County schools superintendent Julie Janssen's interest in keeping the public out of Thursday's meeting to discuss her job performance, or the indifference by some School Board members. The public has an obvious interest in watching elected School Board members evaluate the leader of the public school system, and state law is clear that this is an open meeting.
