USF launches partnership to spruce roads, build brand



As nice as the University of South Florida campus is, the roads around it aren't exactly known for being picturesque. Some landscaping would help. Maybe some banners along Fowler Avenue welcoming people to campus.

That was the spark behind a new partnership between USF, the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, University Community Hospital and Busch Gardens, called the Tampa Innovation Alliance, reporter Rick Danielson tells us in today's St. Petersburg Times.

The group has two goals. First: to make North Tampa more welcoming and to create a sense of entry for the university, hospitals and theme park. The other is to establish a brand for the area that emphasizes each institution's role as an innovator in health, research, education or entertainment.
