USF Poly Faculty Senate: BOG should deny USF Poly's push to split
The University of South Florida Polytechnic's Faculty Senate has joined the chorus of those concerned about splitting of USF Poly and making it an independent university.
In a letter to the Florida Board of Governors, which oversee the state university system, the faculty released its official position, taken in a special meeting held Tuesday:
We the duly elected USF Polytechnic Faculty Senators, respectfully request that the Board of Governors of the state university system vote at this time to deny a separation of USF Polytechnic from the USF System.
They outlined ten concerns, including separation costs, ongoing funding, accreditation and faculty recruitment.
