The much-debated documentary "Waiting for Superman" will be shown at USF St. Petersburg Monday, followed by a panel discussion.

The panelists are Marshall Ogletree, executive director of the Pinellas teachers union; Linda Benware, a former Pinellas school district administrator who's now working with Goliath Davis and others to establish charter schools for black students; Darren Hammond, principal of Pinellas Secondary School in Pinellas Park; and Elizabeth Perkins, the graduate support coordinator at the Academy Prep private school in St. Petersburg.

"We expect a big crowd and honest conversation," Helen Levine, USFSP's regional vice chancellor for external affairs, said at yesterday's COQEBS meeting.

The screening is free and open to the public. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Steidinger Auditorium at the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, 100 8th Ave. SE. It's hosted by the Honors Program at USFSP, the education honor society Kappa Delta Pi and USFSP's College of Education.
