Want to be the dropout prevention director in Pinellas? Move fast!
Quick. If you know anybody who might be good for heading up the Pinellas school district's dropout prevention office, tell them to polish up their resume lickety split.
After the school board voted 5-2 Tuesday to shoot down Superintendent Julie Janssen's pick to head up the dropout prevention office, the district posted the position the following afternoon. And clearly it's looking to find somebody in a hurry: the resume and personal statement highlighting qualifications must be turned in to the personnel department by close of business Tuesday, Sept. 21. (Call 588-6278 for more info.)
The district also posted the human resources director position that was held by Janet Hernandez, who Janssen had recommended for the dropout prevention job. Resumes for that position must also be in by close of business Tuesday.
