Want to work for the Pasco school district?
A new administration means plenty of moves in the top ranks of the Pasco County school district. This week alone, the district is advertising four top jobs on its website.
Up for grabs are:
Director of food and nutrition services — current director Rick Kurtz retires at the end of the month.
Director of maintenance — the post has been filled by interim Mark Fox, but new superintendent Kurt Browning wants to advertise the job and fill it permanently.
Director of communications and government relations — frozen for more than a year, with the work being done by Summer Robertson, who left after the August primary election.
Director of human resources — frozen for more than a year, with duties handled primarily by supervisor Lydia Ray.
The district also is readvertising for the third or fourth time its vacancy in the employee relations office, which has needed a supervisor since Betsy Kuhn resigned over the summer. And Browning continues to reorganize departments, more positions are expected to be advertised.
Since taking office, Browning primarily has appointed people into positions without advertising them. Assistant superintendent Ray Gadd (one of those appointees) told the Gradebook that the district is working to get "back on protocol of advertising positions." So keep an eye out if you're looking.
