Wesley Chapel High gets new principal

Nettles Mitchell High assistant principal Carin Nettles is the new leader of Wesley Chapel High.

Pasco schools superintendent Heather Fiorentino made the announcement this morning in advance of the district's monthly high school principals meeting. She interviewed four applicants for the post Tuesday.

Nettles had been in the running for several principal jobs lately. She has been the administrator in charge of several high-profile projects for Mitchell High, including its medical program and its ninth grade academy.

The top job at Wesley Chapel came open just a week ago, when Fiorentino transferred Andy Frelick -- who had run the school for a decade -- to run Ridgewood High. Frelick recently had come under fire for a grade-point controversy involving a handful of graduating seniors, including one high-profile athlete.

Now Wesley Chapel just needs an assistant principal to round out its administration. (Deadline to apply is today, if you're interested.)
