Where are Florida's top black students?



This year, Florida has 43 National Achievement Scholars, who are widely perceived to be the top black students in the country, according to information released this morning by the National Merit Scholarship Corp.

Hillsborough has eight. Pinellas has none.

There are 14 in Broward County, four in Palm Beach County, three in Miami-Dade and two each in Orange and Duval. There are three in Alachua, three in Seminole, one each in Collier, Marion and Leon, and one who is homeschooled.

There are none in Pasco and Hernando. See the full list of names below. (Click on comments first.)
