Who do you want to lead Pinellas schools?
Have something to say about the Pinellas County school board's search for superintendent?
Officials want to hear from you.
The school board tonight is hosting a public workshop to allow members of the public to share their ideas for the superintendent search with the board and the man the board hired to lead the search, Florida School Boards Association executive director Wayne Blanton.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at district headquarters, 301 4th St. SW in Largo.
It was called after board members learned that leaders of the Pinellas Education Foundation, a business-led nonprofit that raises money to benefit schools and students, had planned to meet with Blanton alone. Board members initially raised concerns about that discussion, partly because they wanted to ensure other community members had similar access. Foundation leaders have since canceled their meeting with Blanton and plan to be in attendance tonight instead.
