Who will Keisha Bell endorse?
Arguably the biggest surprise on election night for the Pinellas School Board races was the performance of political novice Keisha Bell. Bell raised a fraction of the money hauled in by Jim Jackson. She didn't have the establishment backing that Lew Williams did. Yet she came away with 28 percent of the District 7 vote (next to 33 percent for Jackson and 39 percent for Williams.)
After building that bit of political muscle, Bell's looking to flex it. She told the Gradebook she will be making an endorsement, but has not made up her mind. She plans to announce her decision Sept. 7.
Figuring out who the Bell voters are, and who they will choose next, has generated some buzz since the returns came in. So what do you think? Are those voters more likely to move to Jackson or Williams? Or will will they stay home? Has anybody looked at the returns closely enough to offer an educated opinion?
