Will we have school on Monday?
With all the talk of Hurricane Isaac, the inevitable question is whether schools will be open as the storm threatens.
Too soon to tell, district officials around the region say. Pasco leaders say they'll try to make a decision by mid-Saturday, if they can, to give families a chance to prepare themselves if necessary. Notifications will be through the school's robo-call system, and information will be on the district website and Twitter feed.
The Hillsborough district, meanwhile, has launched a weather page to keep parents updated with the latest conditions. Families also will get notified via Parent Link if schools are closed, and they can check the district's Twitter, Facebook and website to get school-related storm news.
Pinellas officials said they expect to make their decision on Sunday. Closures will be reported via recorded information on the district emergency phone line, (727) 588-6424; phone message sent out via School Messenger; e-mail message to all employees; and information posted on www.PCSB.org.
