Wrong school grades issued for schools in Hillsborough, Pinellas
Hillsborough County is not a C school district after all, the state says. It's a B.
In fact, grades in other districts are being corrected as well.
Seventeen Hillsborough schools were shortchanged in the controversial grading system that the state intended for better accountability. About the same number of schools were affected in Pinellas County too, said superintendent John Stewart. He didn't have the names of the schools Friday - he was on vacation in Los Angeles.
"It will be good news for the schools when they get it," he said.
It's not clear what caused the error or if other school districts were affected. See this story as it develops here.
