Four Pasco assistant principals promoted to run schools

Pasco schools superintendent Kurt Browning has announced the promotion of four assistant principals to principal positions.

Scott Atkins, assistant principal at Double Branch Elementary, is recommended as the next leader of Sand Pine Elementary in Wesley Chapel. He would replace Todd Cluff, who is being promoted to learning community executive director.

Jennifer Heptig, assistant principal at Lake Myrtle Elementary, is proposed to take over Longleaf Elementary. She would take the place of Arlene Bodden, who retired at the end of the school year.

Jeanne Krapfl, assistant principal at Gulfside Elementary, is named to run Cypress Elementary. She would take over from Dolly Gauvey, who resigned retired at the end of the year.

Dawn Scilex, assistant principal at Mary Giella Elementary, is recommended to become principal at Fox Hollow Elementary. She would replace Lisa Miller, who was transferred to the district office.

Both appointments go to the School Board for consideration on Tuesday. All current principal vacancies would be filled with the approval of these moves.
