Free dental checkups for Pinellas students

Pinellas children can receive free dental checkups and at six locations throughout the county on Friday. Just get them in the car by telling them you’re going to Disney.

Give Kids A Smile, a nonprofit organization of the American Dental Association, will be offering the screenings and cleanings for Pinellas schoolchildren in kindergarten through the fifth grade. The free checkup includes two X-rays, a cleaning, sealants and a fluoride treatment. If the dentist finds cavities, a follow-up appointment for fillings can be made for March 15.

Interested parents should contact their school’s nurse or social worker to see if their children qualify. Some schools will offer free transportation.
