Hillsborough employee discipline cases



The Hillsborough County School Board meets on Tuesday. Not included on the posted agenda are the employee discipline cases. The Tampa Bay Times obtained this information through a public records request. Superintendent MaryEllen Elia has recommended these actions, pending board approval:

Isaac Ali, a teacher at Jennings Middle School. He was arrested on March 10 on charges of felony battery. He pleaded not guilty. He will be suspended without pay, pending the outcome of the criminal case.

Fermin Vega Hernandez, bus driver. He was charged on Feb. 24 with driving under the influence. Suspended without pay, pending the outcome.

Jesse Polak,
bus rider, charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession, suspended without pay pending the outcome.

Lalonnie Hall, bus rider, charged with failing to return hired or leased property, suspended without pay pending the outcome.

Mario Gutierrez, furnishing refinishing, DUI, suspended without pay pending the outcome.

Richard Brennan
, maintenance, DUI charge reduced to reckless driving, termination.

Levit X. Bauta Ortiz, sites and utilities, tested positive for marijuana, termination.
