Hillsborough school board might change meeting times
You can't please everybody, especially when it comes to what time the school board meets.
The Hillsborough County board starts its business meetings at 3 p.m. That way senior staff, who start their day before the sun is up, can attend without having a too-long day -- that is, unless the meeting is especially contentious and lasts into the night.
But there are some who would like the meetings to take place in the evening, a schedule more convenient to working parents.
And some school board members and staff would like to start at 9 a.m. to avoid those 14 hour days for staff.
So the board voted.
Four of the seven members want to alternate between morning and afternoon meetings.
The issue is on the agenda for Tuesday's meeting.
