If you really want to know about the Hillsborough County schools budget
Two-point-eight billion dollars is a lot of money in anybody's budget. Although the Hillsborough County School Board is required by law to hold public hearings before adopting their yearly spending plan, the process is fairly pro forma, occurring with little discussion or community input.
The School Board will be briefed Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. on how the money will be spent, as well as the impact of state laws and federal sequestration. Have a look at the numbers here.
Tuesday's workshop is open to the public in the second floor staff conference room, school district headquarters, 901 E Kennedy Boulevard.
Since it is a workshop and not a board meeting, no votes will be taken and there will be no public comment.
