More developments in the teacher mentor program
Schools in Hillsborough County are finding out today if they will be included in the pilot program that assigns teachers in hybrid teaching and mentoring roles. Fifty such schools have been selected and Gradebook will publish the list as soon as the school district releases it.
Here is the Powerpoint that professional development director Tricia McManus shared with the School Board Tuesday. It includes timelines for the application process.
Affected are about 260 district employees who are now peer evaluators or peer mentors under the Gates-funded Empowering Effective Teachers. All of that will change after this school year. About 150 instructional mentor and 50 "teacher talent developer" positions -- meaning the hybrid job -- will be open.
