Negotiations continue today in Pinellas for police, PESPA

The Pinellas County School District has reached tentative agreements with the teachers union and the services union. The teachers received a 5.6 percent raise on average, while the services union got a 5 percent raise.

Negotiations are scheduled to continue today with two other bargaining units, the Pinellas Educational Support Professionals Association and the district's internal police unit. The police are expected to continue talks at 2 p.m., while PESPA is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

District officials are hoping to reach tentative agreements with those groups soon; superintendent Mike Grego wants to bring the agreements for School Board approval on Sept. 24. All agreements are subject to union ratification.
