New principals appointed to two Pasco County schools
The Pasco County school district continued to shift school leaders Wednesday, with the appointment of two new middle school principals.
Cortney Gantt, principal of Trinity Elementary School since 2011, will head to Seven Springs Middle School. She takes over from Chris Dunning, whose transfer to Ridgewood High School prompted parent protests. The Trinity Elementary job will be posted.
Rachel Fowler, an assistant principal at Rushe Middle School, will hold the top job at Weightman Middle School. She takes over from Brandon Bracciale, who transferred to Chasco Middle after that school's leader moved to Crews Lake Middle.
Gantt and Fowler "are both highly qualified administrators, and have served their current schools extremely well," superintendent Kurt Browning told the School Board in a message announcing the appointments.
The board will consider approving the moves on Tuesday.
