Pasco career-technical education chief takes principal post

Rob Aguis is headed back to the Pasco County's Marchman Technical Education Center.

Aguis ran Marchman once before, until he took over as the district's director of career and technical education in 2006. He played a key role in helping the school become eligible to offer students financial aid, and has been working to modernize the school.

He did not apply for the position, which came open with the retirement of Sheila Bryan. But the applicant pool for the job did not suit superintendent Kurt Browning, who readvertised the spot several times.

"They didn't find who they wanted" with the ad, district spokeswoman Linda Cobbe said. "So they asked him if he would do it and take Marchman to the next level."

Aguis agreed. He met with the staff Monday afternoon.
