Pasco school district, Zephyrhills city officials meet to 'clear the air'
School district and city leaders were mum Tuesday after a mid-morning meeting at Zephyrhills High School, aimed to improve frosty relations between the two agencies.
Linda Cobbe, district spokeswoman, said both sides agreed to limit public comment while they straighten out their concerns, which blossomed after the school did not renew the football coaching contract for popular police Sgt. Reggie Roberts.
She said the meeting was "cordial," but the officials made no decisions and are waiting on the conclusion of an investigation into Roberts' storing of a gun on campus before taking any major steps. During that review, Roberts will stop overseeing the school resource officers that his department places in Zephyrhills High and Stewart Middle schools.
