Pinellas hosts job fair to bank teachers for Transformation Zone schools
Pinellas County Schools is looking to stock up on talent for its most struggling schools.
The district will host a job fair from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at High Point Elementary, 5921 150th Ave. N in Clearwater, seeking educators for its Transformation Zone, a group of eight schools that are currently among the lowest performing schools in the district.
Check out the application details here.
District spokeswoman Lisa Wolf described the fair as a "proactive approach to create a bank of high-performing instructional staff to place, if needed." Educators who are selected could be hired for the 2017-18 school year or begin working in the current school year if a vacancy opened up.
The eight schools in the Transformation Zone lost 18 teachers collectively in the first semester of school, and 15 of them have since been replaced.
