Pinellas isn't budging on Jamerson feeder pattern
Despite repeated complaints from parents at Jamerson Elementary, it appears that the Pinellas County School Board doesn't plan to budge on changing the school's feeder pattern.
Students at Jamerson Elementary now have first dibs on seats at Thurgood Marshall Fundamental Middle. Under a proposal, now on its way to a second reading, students at Jamerson would instead get priority to attend either Azalea Middle or Bay Point Middle - both options that many parents say are not on par with Thurgood Marshall.
Board members will discuss the issue again Tuesday. See the agenda here.
The item is part of a broader issue about proposed changes to district application policies. Members of the public can listen to the discussion, but not speak. Public comments will be taken when the issue comes back to the board for final approval.
