Pinellas raises are official

The Pinellas County School Board signed off Tuesday on pay raises for its four unions.

Teachers got a 5.6 percent raise on average, while other groups got 5 percent raises. The School Board's vote Tuesday was the final step necessary for the pay raises to become official. The unions already had ratified tentative agreements with the school district.

Board Chairwoman Carol Cook said, "It's a good day for Pinellas County."
